How does your media product represent a particular social group?
The social group that represents my magazine, is working/middle class as the price ranging of my magazine isn't ranged too high and is affordable. this its conveyed by the attitude and images that is portrayed throughout the magazine. The appearance of the model placed centre staged is dressed in affordable clothes, which contrasts with the magazine and its audience. The use of the language used in the magazine indicates working class " R&B singer, gets close and personal with Madonna on stage" " New face smashes the charts with a new hit "Head over heels" The characters in my magazine represent teenagers, who are in to music, fashion and celebrity gossip, The artists mainly portrayed on the cover are singers like Beyonce, Chris brown, Nicki Minaj etc therefore ties in with the genre of music and the audience of the magazine itself. The age of the characters involved in the magazine range from 17-late 30's although may fluctuate when talking about older artists appreciated by younger audiences. The target audience mirrors the average age of the magazine. The gender representation is predominantly aimed at females due to the female cover picture, layout colour scheme/style. Due to the layout can portray that the magazine is un -feminine, however male genders may find this attractive and interesting to read, therefore it is open to both genders. representation of minority groups e.g. ethnicity is shown throughout my magazine for being difference and dressing different due to her background and the way how she expresses herself.
